Mackay is proud to be hosting Rumble on the Reef for the fourth year.From humble beginnings, this fabulous event has grown into the largest action sportsfestival in Australia.What started as a state street skateboarding championship has transformed into aspectacular multi-sport event featuring skateboarding, wakeboarding and hydrofoilkiteboarding.In 2021 Rumble on the Reef will branch out into the arts with the introduction of theinaugural Rhythm and the Reef music festival, and the Render on the Reef Street Artfestival.The stunning Wake House Australia will be the backdrop for some greatperformances from the Kite String Tangle, DZ Deathrays, Luud and Odd Mob.The Wake House will also play host to the Rumble on the Reef wakeboardingcompetition, featuring three days of grass roots style wakeboarding as competitorsbattle it out for a share in over $10,000 of prizes.Our region’s state-of-the-art skatepark Sugar Bowl Mackay will host the Rumble onthe Reef Australian Skateboarding Federation Street Skateboarding Championshipsand the BMD Moneybowl – Queensland Bowlriding Championships. For five daysspectators will have the opportunity to see some of Australia’s best skateboarders inaction, and promising young skateboarders will be able to develop their skills at anumber of skateboarding workshops.The 2021 Hydrofoil Pro Tour will be a spectacular sight at Lamberts Beach.Queensland's fastest kite-hydrofoil racers will be competing for the title of the coralcrown.Best of all, the Rumble on the Reef skateboarding, wakeboarding and hydrofoilkiteboarding championships are all free for spectators to attend. It will be anexcellent opportunity to see some of the country’s elite extreme athletes in action.Wow, what a program!Our sincere thanks go to the organisers for bringing these world-class events to ourregion.
